LAKE DISTRICT travel guide evolved out of four guide books to the Lake District and Cumbria, written by Christian Dymond: a cultural guide, one on food and drink and two general guides. He has also written three city guides for luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton as well as writing for The Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph and The Financial Times. Charlotte Dymond worked for many years as a television producer/director (mainly in the north of England and Scotland). Amongst the ITV factual series she produced were ones on Windermere (lake), historic food, gardens and country shows.

Website design. Cumbrian based company ioomi designed this LAKE DISTRICT travel guide website and the same person, Stacy, also created the site for Dymond Guides (www.dymondguides.com). ioomi itself specialises in website design and software management and (as Sensible IT Solutions) provides IT support to businesses and schools throughout Cumbria. www.ioomi.co.uk / www.sensibleitsolutions.co.uk / www.ioomishow.co.uk

Photography. Many photographs on this website were taken by the late Simon Crouch who for many years was an ITV director/cameraman. His television credits include Melvyn Bragg’s Land of the Lakes for Channel 4 and Norman Nicholson’s Lake District for ITV. He was also a cameraman on three series of Channel 4’s The White Room, on Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio for Channel 4 and for numerous televised rock concerts. He won three Royal Television Society awards during his TV career.

Photography. All of the panoramic images you see on the website (apart from one or two) and dozens of others were taken by Nina Kathryn Claridge. She originally worked in London for acclaimed photographers Rankin and Clive Nichols before returning to Cumbria and setting up her own photographic business. Her client list includes Ikea, Waitrose Food, Booths and Michelin starred chef Simon Rogan and she also produces her own greeting cards, postcards, calendars and signed Giclée prints.www.ninaclaridge.com
