First ever ‘City of Lights’ in Carlisle sees events, displays and installations, the highlight being a ‘visual spectacle’ in Carlisle Cathedral (12-14).

Dalemain Estate near Ullswater. The undulating cross country run 'in sometimes muddy conditions' starts and finishes at Dalemain and takes place within the grounds of the historic home. Free Trail Kidz 1K event on the same day.

Alhambra cinema and Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, and Rheged near Penrith. Keswick’s 21st film festival returns with a ‘blend of the best films from the world’s greatest festivals and thought provoking documentaries'.

Askham Hall, near Penrith. Pianist Noam Greenberg and the Castalian String Quartet play a selection of chamber music by Robert Schumann. Dinner in Allium, Askham Hall's Michelin starred restaurant, follows the concerts on the Saturday and Sunday evenings.
